Dr. Eugene Clarence, DVM

Eugene is a learned ape. As a retired doctor of veterinary medicine who specialized in human biomechanics and skeletal dimorphism, he spends his days enthusiastically lecturing the keen greenhorns and arrogant popinjays at University. His theories are deeply respected by higher academia, if not well regarded by the theologians of religious society. The idea that ape and human are in fact, closely related to one another is a topic of much debate and contention among ape society. How could the civilized and reasonable ape be related to such violent and compulsive beasts? While much of the early history of the evolution of ape-kind has been lost, Eugene hypothesizes (based on his own research and the archeologic evidence of his peers), that human-kind may have in fact descended from ape. This idea has not gone over well in some circles. Riding the line of heresy, Eugene stands his ground, firm in his research and his beliefs. While much loathed by the zealots of the church, he is deeply beloved by his students. Here we see him scribbling down his latest findings, interrupted by the arrival of an inquisitive mind.
